Campaign Statistics

Listmonk tracks delivery and engagement for every campaign you send. This page explains what the numbers mean and how to dig into the detail.

Where to find stats

Open Campaigns in the left sidebar and click any campaign name. The overview panel shows live statistics for that campaign. Stats are available while a campaign is running and after it finishes.

Understanding the numbers

MetricWhat it means in plain English
SentHow many emails have been dispatched so far
ViewsHow many people appear to have opened the email
ClicksHow many times a link inside the email was clicked
BouncesEmails that couldn't be delivered (bad address, full inbox, etc.)
UnsubscribesPeople who clicked the unsubscribe link

The view rate and click rate are shown as percentages of the total sent. For example, a view rate of 40% means roughly 4 in 10 recipients opened the email.

:::note A word on open rates Opens are measured by a tiny invisible image that loads when someone opens the email. Many email apps (especially on phones) block these images by default, which means an open won't get counted even if the person did read it. Open rates are always an undercount — treat them as a rough guide, not an exact number. :::

Did a specific person open my email?

The campaign statistics screen shows totals only — it does not list individual names. To check whether a specific person opened or clicked, you need to look at their subscriber profile:

  1. Go to Subscribers in the left sidebar.
  2. Search for the person by name or email address.
  3. Click their row to open their profile.
  4. Scroll down to the Campaign activity section. This shows every campaign they were sent, along with whether they opened it or clicked a link.

Making sure tracking is working

Tracking is enabled by default on your SpringUp-hosted instance. For it to work correctly:

  • Opens — the email template must not strip out or block the invisible tracking image that Listmonk adds automatically. If you are using one of the built-in or ready-to-use templates, this is already handled for you.
  • Clicks — all links in your email are automatically wrapped in a tracking redirect. You do not need to do anything special. Just paste normal links in your campaign body and Listmonk handles the rest.
  • Custom templates — if you have built a custom HTML template and open tracking isn't working, check that your template doesn't have a <meta> tag or CSS that blocks external images. Contact support@springup.software if you need help checking this.

While a campaign is running

Stats refresh in near-real time during a send. It is safe to check the overview while the campaign is still running — the numbers update as emails go out.

Exporting stats

Listmonk does not currently provide a built-in export for campaign statistics. If you need a data extract — for example for a report — contact support@springup.software and we can pull the raw numbers for you.
